About ff14db

ff14db is a data and tools site for FINAL FANTASY XIV: market board prices, gear stats, crafting costs and best-in-slot sets. It deliberately does not cover lore, quests or guides — the FFXIV wiki does that well and there is no reason to duplicate it.

Where the data comes from

• XIVAPI — item names, stats, item levels, recipes, materia and icons, read straight from the game's data sheets. Icons are hotlinked from XIVAPI and are never rehosted here.
• Universalis — market board prices, crowdsourced from players running compatible tools. Prices are only as fresh as the last upload for that world, which is why every price on this site carries a timestamp.

Both are free, volunteer-run projects. We use their public APIs politely, well inside the documented limits, and we do not datamine the game client.

How often it updates

• Prices for the fastest-moving items: hourly.
• Everything else on the market board: rotated daily.
• Game content (items, stats, recipes): weekly, and immediately on a patch.

What the numbers mean

Prices are the lowest current listing on a datacenter unless labelled otherwise. They move constantly and a price shown here is a snapshot, not a quote.

Crafting profit assumes you buy every ingredient at its current lowest listing and sell the result at its current lowest listing. It does not assume you craft intermediate materials yourself, and it excludes items that never actually sell.

Best-in-slot sets are built from item level and role-based stat weights. They are not combat simulations. For sim-verified BiS, use The Balance, which is the community's authority for it. What this site adds is what a set costs in gil on your datacenter — see best in slot.
